About Western Piedmont Youth Symphony

The Western Piedmont Youth Symphony has been instrumental in the lives of many young musicians throughout the years.  A great number have made music their career.

The WPYS, conducted by Maestro Joby Brunjes performs two concerts a year. Auditions are required.  The Youth Symphony practices on Monday evenings from 5-6:30 pm during concert season.  For more information, contact [email protected]

AUDITIONS FOR YOUTH SYMPHONY FALL SEASON 2017!

Western Piedmont Youth Symphony will hold auditions for its 2017-2018 season on Tuesday, September 5th thru Friday September 8th from 3:30 until 8:00 pm by appointment only.

WPYS Candidates should prepare the following for audition:

• 2 Major Scales in 2 or more octaves
• 1 minor scale (any of the 3 forms is acceptable) in 2 or more octaves
• One prepared solo piece or etude
• Each musician will also be given a short passage of sight-reading
