WPS Youth Orchestras Auditions 22-23

Youth Symphony and Debut Strings auditions will be taking place September 8 – 10, 2022, at the Community Rehearsal Room of the Western Piedmont Symphony:
243 3rd Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601

Specific audition requirements are listed further below by group and instrument. Please use this to prepare for your audition.

About Youth Symphony
The Youth Symphony is a full orchestra of young musicians that meets weekly in the fall and spring to grow as musicians and learn to play as one group.
The YS performs two concerts a year. Auditions are required. The Youth Symphony practices on Monday evenings. For more information, please contact [email protected]
About Debut Strings
Debut Strings is a strings-only ensemble for young musicians who are new to playing in an ensemble setting.
Debut Strings, conducted by Angela Allen, performs two concerts a year and young string players are encouraged to come and try out! For more information, please contact [email protected]
Youth Symphony and Debut Strings Schedule
Rehearsal and Concert Schedule 2022-2023 Season
All rehearsals will be held in the WPS Rehearsal Room. Debut Strings meets from 5:00 – 6:15 PM and Youth Symphony meets from 6:30 – 8:30 PM unless noted otherwise.
