About the Event

Though the 55th season of the Western Piedmont Symphony has come to a halt as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, Music Director & Conductor Matthew Troy keeps the music playing on.

The next WPS Watch Party will be Premiere! Famous Opening Nights in Classical Music on May 22nd, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. This engaging virtual program will offer insight into some of the most famous and infamous events in music history, such as The Rite of Spring, Handel's Messiah, Symphonie Fantastique and more.

On June 12th, 2020 at 7:30 p.m., Maestro Troy will lead the audience through Weird Instruments of the Orchestra! This virtual event will show off some of the most interesting and unusual sounds in the symphony orchestra, exploring a different side of classical music.

Vienna: A Trip to the "City of Dreams" will conclude this series of virtual events on June 26th, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. During this watch party, explore the rich history of Viennese art, culture, society, and music, and learn interesting stories about the different artistic and political movements that have shaped the city over the centuries.The event will be live via Zoom.
